A Hurricane Katrina survivor from Bay St. Louis is receiving a new house from supermodel-turned-talk show host Tyra Banks.

Guests on Banks’ May 24 show will give Rochelle Gaddis a $150,000 check and pledge to build a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home, a news release from the show’s publicist said. Gaddis lost her home in the August 2005 storm.Gaddis appeared on Banks’ show last season to talk about her losses in Katrina. Her sister and nephew also died in the storm.

Rochelle and her family plan on moving into their new house at the end of May, the news release said.
